Story about the Mazatecs.
For thousands of years and throughout history, the Mazatecs have had a relationship with the sacred mushrooms, of the psilocybe genus, which have been called teonanácatl, which in Nahuatl means "meat of the gods" the traditional Mazatec doctors attribute neurotropic, anticancer and antibiotic properties.
To access knowledge and become a traditional doctor, "Man or Woman of Medicine" there are several paths that are basically experienced in three ways: Being born with the gift, self-interest in this work and third that can be chosen by the healer or by mushrooms, the warning commonly occurs during a ceremony or during sleep, however, being a man or woman of knowledge, more than a goal to be achieved, represents a way of life that implies a constant incorporation of information and knowledge that is done over time. throughout life and that fungi play a fundamental role.
The Evening.
Before the evening, you have to get the necessary elements for the evening; candles, flowers, copal. Once those who will participate in the evening have gathered, they will talk about the reason for taking the mushrooms, the traditional doctor lights the candles and places them in order. Each participant gets up to pick up their package and returns to their place, immediately afterwards they sing to the 4 elements and to the medicine.
Traditionally, mushrooms are consumed at night, taking care that there are no noises to avoid distractions because they are very delicate and if there is any noise it no longer has any effect, the prayer and chants are done before eating them, it must be in total darkness. Some participants are very sensitive and it is recommended to avoid driving cars or traveling if you still have the effects of psilocybin.
When the Mazatecs consume mushrooms there are some rules to follow, when talking about the plant it should always be with love, with joy, with respect because when they are ignored and do not follow the rules such as dieting with food to purify and cleanse the body and sex they are disrespected.
Circle Program:

Circle closes with sunrise.
Note: during the ceremony we will meditate in silence, play music and listen to Don Santiago. After the closing ceremony we will have food and some of us will get things ready for the Temazcal.
In the ingestion of these mushrooms, these rules must be followed, emanating from the tradition of the Mazatecs, it is important to subject the body to a healthy diet, purifying, cleansing and detoxifying the body for a minimum week.
1. Consume the mushrooms at night to avoid noise and distractions.
2. No food, alcoholic beverages or medications should be ingested before and during the ceremony.

6. The person has to be seated.

Therapeutic potential of fungi.
The therapeutic properties of psilocybin mushrooms have been recognised by the Mazatec since time immemorial, its scientific validation is a recent issue that has been accompanied by media visibility, due to the ability of psilocybin to interact with the central nervous system, expand neuronal connectivity and induce transcendental experiences with a deep personal meaning and spiritual sense that has captured the attention of specialists in mental health and neuroscience worldwide.
Recent studies, the experience has the potential to reconfigure the personal perspective and promote the rectification of people's behaviours and have long-term effects on personality.
After one or two sessions of psilocybin-assisted psychotherapy, it is possible to relieve mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, anguish and post-traumatic stress disorder.
In the framework of the COVID-19 pandemic, psilocybin therapy is considered to have the potential to play an important therapeutic role in the treatment of various mental disorders in post-COVID-19 clinical psychiatry.
Advice and recommendations to prepare for a master plant ceremony.
Master plants are sacred beings with spiritual energy and to enter into communion with them requires physical, mental and spiritual preparation. Prepare for the diet a week before, cleanse and detoxify the body.
Diet means eating it, drinking it, incorporating it into the body through its taste, its contact, drinking it. So a diet restrictions are very specific: Food without salt, without meat and without sexual intercourse, avoid drinking beverages such as coffee and alcohol, fatty foods, eggs for at least a week. And the day of the ceremony keep fasting to arrive light.v In this way the body purifies itself and opens itself to receive the energy and consciousness of the plants, each plant has a specific energy and function. According to the ailments of the person, it is the plant that the teacher prescribes, with a first intention to receive his medicine and heal the bodies: physical, mental, energetic and spiritual and in a second moment is to receive his secrets, his teachings, his energy to be depositaries of it and be able to continue on the path of healing.
The first benefit that is experienced is to receive the healing of the plant and the deeper, longer and more committed the diet, the energy of the plant is stored in the body, so that it is always available to people, for itself. or to share with an intention to heal.
The plant diet is the true way to be like nature, simple, humble, always in contact with the earth and with a lot of love, to give oneself to everything and everyone.
Development of the Evening One of the main objectives of the Evening is to access the sacred, the principle of healing where there is communication with the divinities, with nature and with the flow of energies that the participants perceive during that period, when they open the gateways to new and different perceptions, knowledge and the ability to face and cope with any conflict and restore balance.
It can be said that this ceremony fulfils a structure, it has a reason to be carried out, there are prerequisites, it has a beginning, a development and an end, all of this is essential for it to be a complete ceremony. All Evenings have these characteristics.
